Hello, I’m asking for some advice. My girlfriend and I had sex on August 24. It wasn’t unprotected sex because I used a condom, but we’re not sure whether the condom leaked or not. My girlfriend took Lady pills using the Yuzpe method about 4 hours after we had sex, and then she took the second dose 12 hours later. We followed the instructions for taking the pills properly. My concern is that her periods are irregular, and her last period started on August 11. I don’t know whether she had already ovulated when we had sex because I read that emergency contraceptive pills may not be effective if ovulation has already occurred.
