I'm 35 now, a few years ago I had a my first pap smear, it came back positive for a few high risk HPV strains. I had a colposcopy and thankfully it wasn't cancerous, I was told to get another pap smear in a year or two. Fast forward to today I've since cleared HPV for now (last pap smear was normal). Today I was searching online on how HPV can be transmitted, and came across a health line article. Where it mentions : Hand-genital contact: It involves touching your genitals with hands that touch an area of infection. Vertical transmission: In this case, HPV can spread from birthing person to baby during delivery, although it’s less common. Contact with surfaces or objects: It’s not as usual, but the virus can spread by touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them. Self-infection: The virus can also spread from one part of your body to another by touching a wart or area of infection and another body I do not know when I picked up HPV, but I did have hand-genital contact with people i dated years prior in college. Thinking about all this is making me paranoid that I should tell everyone I've had hand-gentail contact with?
