I (25F) went to see the “best” OBGYN in the area. I felt violated and frustrated. I know this sounds stupid, but I really don’t think I wanna see an OBGYN doctor ever again. I’d rather die before doing that ever again. The first OB/GYN I went to tested me against my consent for STDs despite me telling her that that’s not the issue and surprise! It came back negative. I reported her to the medical board and that practice closed shortly after. The second OB/GYN I went to did an ultrasound and all it confirmed was that I had PCOS which I already knew since 16. I came back to her because I decently liked her and she stated because I’m 25 that when I was ready to conceive, then I can come back to her for help and to take muscle relaxant for the pain. She said unless I wanted to take birth control there isn’t much she could do. I asked about endometriosis and she said I’m too young and it’s too invasive. For the last year, I have had debilitating pelvic pain during my cycles. My cycles continue to come on time. I’ve never missed a period before however they are much heavier now. In the last year, I also had a lot of heavy clotting during my cycle and sexual intercourse also hurts. My periods are debilitating and gradually get better towards the end of the cycle but still painful after. The next issue, I’m also facing is fertility. He had an issue when I said I wasn’t married. I genuinely felt judgment. I explained that I had never been on birth control and don’t ever want to be on it. He also pushed for metformin and pushed for IUD. Which again I expressed many concern and he just shut them down. My partner and I have been having intercourse unprotected consistently for three years. I said I was worried and I know that having Hashimoto’s and PCOS can definitely make it harder, but it doesn’t make it impossible three years is a long time for a young age to not be able to conceive.
