Colposcopy?

I have a long history of painful periods, heavy bleeding/clotting, and bleeding between periods. i had a pelvic ultrasound on 6/29 and received the following results: IMPRESSION: 12mm vascular echogenic area within the lower uterine segment/cervical canal endometrium, favored to represent an endometrial polyp. Heterogeneous myometrium, may represent adenomyosis. RECOMMENDATION(S): Clinical correlation recommended. Given the patient's symptoms of menorrhagia, gynecologic referral for further evaluation with sonohysterography and/or hysteroscopy with possible polypectomy may be considered. When my dr called the other day, she said she wants to schedule a colposcopy. my pap came back normal and i am HPV negative. everything ive read suggests that colposcopies are often scheduled following an abnormal pap....would it make sense to have this done for suspected adenomyosis/polyp? im not sure if i should try to get a second opinion...wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar experience? submitted by /u/stomachgrumble [link] [comments]
