Consultation regarding possible surgical intervention

By

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some advice because I'm feeling a bit lost. I'm currently in Vietnam, and a few days ago I went to a private clinic, where they only performed an ultrasound. The diagnosis was multiple uterine leiomyomas (fibroids) and a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary. The doctor told me I would probably need surgery, but since it was only a clinic, she didn't explain much beyond that or tell me what kind of surgery it might be. According to the ultrasound: Anterior uterine fibroid: 26 × 27 mm Posterior uterine fibroid: 16 × 15 mm Simple cyst on the right ovary: 12 × 17 mm Hemorrhagic cyst on the left ovary: 41 × 47 mm My current symptoms are constant but mild pain (similar to menstrual cramps before a period) and abdominal bloating. I'm planning to go to a hospital for a second opinion no matter what, but since I'm a foreigner and don't really know how the healthcare system works in Vietnam, I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience or from any medical professionals who could give me an idea of how serious this sounds and what I should expect. If surgery is actually necessary, I would also really appreciate it if someone could explain what type of surgery is usually recommended in cases like mine and why. I've attached my ultrasound and colposcopy results. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! submitted by /u/sweetynataly [link] [comments]
