Can someone help me understand vanishing twin syndrome and concerns for conjoined fetus?

I just had my 6 week pregnancy confirmation ultrasound and the doctor suspects a vanishing twin within a single gestational sac. One had a strong heart rate while the other is suspected to be low but couldn’t confirm if it was an artifact from a nearby blood vessel. She also has concerns about it possibly turning into being conjoined? I’ve tried to do some research on it but have been seeing very limited information or statistics regarding this concern and would really appreciate some resources or explanations.
