Cervical Ectropian

I recently went off birth control after being on it for years. Ever since I had children I have had a cervical ectropian. My gyno had done swabs etc paps are normal. She has said that it is likely due to my birth control I was taking because it was the combo pill therefore was hormonal. My husband finally got a vasectomy, yay, and I got the all clear to go off the pill in late February. It's now July and I'm still getting the occasional bleeding during or after sex. Lots of spotting before my period. How long does it take to get back to normal after stopping the pill? I should mention I also have had several appointments before about this and exams etc. Paps are all normal, just this annoying friable cervix.
