Too much Progesterone?

I dealt with low Progesterone levels most of my life which caused depression for days before my period every month. It also caused serious moderate Post Partum Depression for which I was hospitalized for after my second child. Fast-forward. During perimenopause I had severe depression and a good gynecologist finally realized the problem was low progesterone. I went on compound progesterone 600 mg a day which completely resolved my symptoms. That was about 10 years ago. Fast-forward. I had a complete hysterectomy three years ago. About six months ago I started having increased feelings of depression. I dropped the progesterone to 500 mg a day and felt somewhat better. My gynecologist had a progesterone level drawn on me and she said it was normal, but when I saw the results, they were extremely high for someone who was in menopause, so I can’t tell what she means by “normal.” Since then, my depression has increased tremendously again, so I just dropped it to 400 mg a day. The only symptoms I am having are extreme depression and headaches. Can someone please tell me what they think of the progesterone levels? I do have some life changes that are somewhat upsetting. However I’ve had life changes that were way more upsetting before and did not affect me like this. I can’t stand the depression. submitted by /u/Soggy_Sandwich1375 [link] [comments]
